SaasBoat is a SaaS research library for product designers, PMs, and developers. We document real SaaS products in depth — capturing marketing screenshots, UI screenshots, user flow diagrams, heuristic evaluations, and micro-interaction animations — so you can learn from what’s already working.

This Privacy Policy explains how SaaS Boat (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you visit or use the SaaS Boat website and related services, including the SaaS Boat plugin for Figma (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
When you create an account or interact with the Service, we may collect personal information including:

- Authentication information from third-party login providers

Users may create an account using:
- Email and password
- Google Sign-In
When you sign in using Google, we may receive certain profile information from Google, such as your name and email address.
Usage Data
We may automatically collect certain information when you visit the website, including:

- Referring URLs

Analytics and Behavior Tracking

Figma Plugin Data
If you use the SaaS Boat plugin for Figma, we collect your API key authentication state and usage data (such as the number of screenshot inserts) to operate plan limits and improve the plugin. We do not access your Figma files or designs.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — account creation, login, providing access to the library and plugin, processing purchases.
- Legitimate interests — service analytics, security, fraud prevention, and improving the product, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — non-essential cookies, analytics and session-recording tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar), and any marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings or by contacting us.
- Legal obligation — record-keeping and compliance requirements.
3. Tools and Third-Party Services We Use
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze website traffic and usage patterns. It may collect device information, pages visited, session duration, and referring websites, and uses cookies and similar technologies.

Hotjar
We use Hotjar to understand user behavior through heatmaps, session recordings, and feedback tools. Hotjar may collect mouse movements, clicks, scroll behavior, device information, and anonymized IP addresses.

Google Authentication
Users may log in using Google OAuth. We receive limited account information necessary to create and authenticate your account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Gumroad (Payments)
Payments are processed through Gumroad, a third-party payment processor. Gumroad may collect billing information, payment method, transaction data, and email address. SaaS Boat does not store your payment card details.

Brevo (Email)
We may use Brevo to send transactional and service emails, and — only with your consent — product updates. Brevo processes your email address and engagement data (opens, clicks).

4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Create and manage user accounts
- Provide access to the SaaS Boat platform and Figma plugin
- Process transactions and enforce plan limits
- Improve product features and usability

We do not sell personal data.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Service. Cookies help us remember user sessions, analyze traffic, understand user behavior, and improve performance.
Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: non-essential cookies (including Google Analytics and Hotjar) are only set after you give consent via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
You can also disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Service may not function properly.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to maintain user accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the respective tools. Users may request account deletion at any time by contacting us; we will delete associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure authentication systems, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and restricted access to sensitive data. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those services. Review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
9. International Data Transfers
SaaS Boat operates online and information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the standard contractual protections offered by our processors (Google, Hotjar, Gumroad, Brevo).
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Access to your personal data
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Objection to certain processing
- Restriction of processing
- Data portability
